On Aug. 12, The Crossville Prizewinners met at the Extension Office. Eight members, one Cloverbud, six guests and 4 leaders were present when Joseph Gates did roll call.

The club ribbon results for the County Fair were shared.  There were over 90 blue ribbons earned, as well as 12 Superior, 19 Best of Show, and seven State Fair. The club congratulated Joseph and Kristina Aldrich for placing third in the Chef’s Challenge and Alexus Gates for receiving second place in Table Decorating. 

Seven members exhibited a project at State Fair. Kristina earned a green ribbon for Visual Arts- Chalk, Carbon, Pigment, Jesse Helton earned a Reserve Champion for Photography 1, Jax Jordan earned a green ribbon for Health 1, Joseph brought home a green ribbon for his Tractor two project and Alexus earned a green ribbon for Animal Science. Paul Jackson earned a green ribbon for his Cooking 101 project and Suzy Jackson won a green ribbon, Reserve Champion and Inspire Award for her Video/Filmmaking PSA project. 

The club will begin a community service project where they will collect hygiene products for local schools. Upcoming events that members can take part in include a hunter safety course, craft workshop, Grayville parade, and the September Federation meeting.

The Prizewinners will hold their next meeting and elect officers at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 at the Extension office. Everyone enjoyed pizza after the meeting.
