Dennis Stroughmatt has once again organized a concert for the people of Edwards County.

In July of 2020, Stroughmatt performed at the Edwards County Memorial with the Honky-Tonk Circus in an effort to instill hope in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, in mid-April, he will host the Southern Illinois Inside and Out Steel Guitar Jam at Country Financial Hall. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and last until 8 p.m.

The concert will take place on April 17, and will cost $16 per person if purchased now and $20 if tickets are purchased at the gate. As of last Thursday, as reported at the Albion Area Chamber of Commerce March meeting, 100 tickets have already been sold for the event, with 125 more still available.

It was noted that available seating for the concert could increase if the state of Illinois relaxes its mitigations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic further prior to April 17.

The Albion Chamber discussed plans to serve as a food vendor for the event for the organization, using it as a fundraising opportunity. Plans were made to obtain quotes on the price of 400 porkburgers from Country Home Processing and Borowiak’s IGA, though the chamber will also consider non-pork options as well.
