A Wisconsin man arrested following high speed chase in Edwards County last April has been sentenced to prison.
Justin G. Kuehl, 43 of Baraboo, Wisc. entered a guilty but mentally ill plea to two felony charges related to the chase. Following a contested sentencing hearing in Edwards County Circuit Court Sept. 1, Kuehl was sentenced to five years in prison on a conviction of possession of a stolen vehicle and another two years for aggravated fleeing or eluding.
Kuehl’s case dates back April 3 and involved a 200 mile police chase that started in Peoria, Illinois and ended in Edwards County. Edwards County Sheriff Darby Boewe said Kuehl entered Edwards County from Richland County traveling south on Illinois Route 130 with two Richland County deputies in pursuit along with a West Salem Police officer.
