Grayville’s Chief of Police, Roy Mann, submitted his formal resignation during the Grayville City Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 25. Mayor Thompson acknowledged Chief Mann and opened the floor to him.
“I’ve got my letter of resignation here, and I’ll read it to you. First, though, I just want to say thank you. Thank you to Grayville and its people who have stood by me for these years.”
Mann reflected on the state he was leaving the department in for his successor, David Burrows, to take over.
“I’m happy at the shape the department is in. I think he’s getting handed a very good machine; I wish him the best. I think Dave is going to do a great job. I’ve already seen that. He’s going to carry on and pick up right where I left off, and I feel very comfortable about that.”
