The City of Grayville has applied for the Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grants on behalf of Chappy’s, Garman Machine Shop, Wee Care Day Care and Sid’s Well Service.
The grant applications are still under review with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, according to City Clerk JoEllen Seil.
No grant awards for these applications have yet been made, though our coverage has lead to the belief that they have already been awarded. The applications for Chappy’s and Garman Machine Shop were submitted in early May, Wee Care’s in early June and Sid’s Well Service application were submitted to DCEO this past Tuesday.
The City of Grayville is hoping to hear some news about the first two very soon, but noted that the state appears to not be in any rush to award these emergency monies to these local businesses.
