The Grayville Police Department took two Indiana men into custody last week on charges of possessing a controlled substance.
Christopher M. Hathaway, 39, of Princeton and William A. Weber, 50, of Evansville were arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance on Monday, Nov. 10 at approximately 11:23 a.m. At that time, a GPD officer responded to a call at Casey’s General Store in Grayville in regard to suspicious activity.
Upon arriving at the scene, the officer made contact with the store clerk, who advised the officer that two males had been acting suspiciously around the store. The officer then made contact with Hathaway and Weber, both of whom consented to be searched.
A bottle of unmarked pills without prescription was discovered inside their vehicle. The pills were later found to be Hydrocodone, a scheduled drug.
After a brief investigation of the pills, both Hathaway and Weber were arrested and transported to the White County Jail. Each was charged with possession of a controlled substance, while Weber received an additional charge of driving under a suspended license.
