The Grayville Days Committee is now less two members over discussions about the body becoming a 501C3 private incorporated entity.

Grayville Mayor Travis Thompson announced the resignations of Steve and Mary Kay Kendrick from the committee during the Grayville City Council’s first November regular meeting Tuesday night. The decision from the Kendricks to resign actually took place at a meeting of the Grayville Days Committee last week.

“We had a meeting last week,” said Thompson. “Steve and Mary Kay Kendrick both resigned from the Grayville Days Committee.

“(We) looked into a 501C3; they were upset about that.”

But it was the process within incorporating that ultimately led to the resignations.

“But the biggest issue, from what I gathered sitting in the meeting, came when both Tyler and I informed them they were going to have to get POs,” he said. “That’s when things went downhill.”
