A West Salem man was arrested in Wabash County after law enforcement discovered nearly 13 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.
Dalton W. Feldman, 24, was pulled over by a Wabash County Sheriff’s Deputy while heading westbound on Illinois Route 15 on Sept. 27 at 11:01 p.m. Feldman was traveling at 65 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.
During the traffic stop, it was also discovered by the deputy that the registration for the vehicle driven by Feldman was expired.
The sheriff’s department sent K-9 unit Roy to the scene to give a free air narcotics sniff. Roy indicated to deputies that narcotics may be present in Feldman’s vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing 12.9 grams of a crystalline substance, which was suspected by deputies as crystal methamphetamine. The substance later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Feldman was taken to the Wabash County Jail, with a cash bond of $4,000 set on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
