Rachel M. Short, 29, of Grayville, Ill. died Tuesday, March 5 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind. She was born May 1, 1989, in Evansville, the daughter of Chuck and Sharon (Wilson) May. She married Zachary Short on June 4, 2011, and he survives.
Rachel was a schoolteacher and an active member of the Northside Baptist Church in Grayville. She enjoyed crafts and home decorating, but most of all, she cherished her husband, daughter Tenley, and family.
Survivors include her husband, Zach; daughter Tenley; parents Chuck and Sharon (Wilson) May; in-laws Russell and Leigh Short, all of Grayville; sister Sarah (Wes) Blanton of Newburgh, Ind.; niece Holly Blanton; brother-in-law Hunter (Alyssa) Short of Albion, Ill.; grandparents Flo Meritt and Rose Marie Wilson, both of Grayville, and Edna May of Carmi, Ill.; and many friends and co-workers.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 9, at the Grayville High School Gymnasium. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
