Bowman “Pop” Rudolph passed away March 17 in St. Charles, Mo. after a brief illness. He was 89.
He was married to Helen Martha (Acker) Rudolph for 62 years until her death in 2010. He is survived by his brother Keith (Ramona) Rudolph; three children Stephen (Kathy) Rudolph, Mark (Lorri) Rudolph and Martha (Kevin) Grubb; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bowman retired after teaching elementary school for 38 years, starting in Grayville, Ill. and then for 33 years in the Henning/Bismarck Ill. Community Unit District where he started as the sixth grade teacher before becoming principal and then superintendent.
Bowman was active in the Danville Gao Grotto, serving as Monarch, and in the Masonic Lodge. He was active in the Moose Lodge. He loved to play pool, bowling, bingo and trivia. He enjoyed his many friendships and was always quick with a joke. He was much loved and will be missed by all.
