Paul G. Orr, age 82 of rural Albion, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
Paul was born on November 7, 1935 to Huldah May (Mills) Orr and Donald Orr.
He married Margie Ann Doty on April 11, 1958. They welcomed two daughters and one son into their lives. Paul was a member of the Albion Church of Christ and the West Village Christian Church. He had a variety of interests that included: raising, shearing and showing sheep, and was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly loved to hunt deer, coon and turkeys. He also enjoyed drowning worms at the pond. He was also a member of the N.W.T.F. for many years and was instrumental in bringing wild turkeys to Edwards County. Paul enjoyed singing and yodeling. He was also artistic, inventive and creative and loved to paint.
He was active and played Legion Baseball and continued playing for several years afterward in the area.
Paul was an Illinois State Policeman for over 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and daughter, Lori Ann.
He leaves family and friends with a wealth of great memories. They include his wife of over 60 years, Margie, daughter Terri (Chuck) Hilgeman, son Tim (Nicky) Orr, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Betty (Archie) Green and Nieta (George) Fewkes.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 5–7 p.m. at the Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, IL.
A Celebration of a Life Well Lived will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home
