Jeffrey Ray Fawkes, 58, formerly of Olney

Jeffrey Ray Fawkes, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.
He was born on March 3, 1962 in Olney, Illinois to Vanita Jean (Shaw) and Fred William Fawkes. Jeff married Tonya Robinson in Olney, Illinois on May 21, 1988.
Jeff graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an Associate Degree in Business Management. Jeff worked as a Nuclear Engineer for various companies, lastly working for Exelon Clinton Power Station out of Clinton, Illinois, first as a Systems Engineer then as a Site Maintenance Rule Coordinator. Jeff was a member of Pi Tau Sigma, Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, and Tau Beta Pi-Fraternity of Engineers. Jeff was a very talented musician, playing drums with various bands and in clubs from his teens through his twenties. He loved spending time with his family and his six precious grandchildren.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories are his wife, Tonya Fawkes of Vidalia, Georgia, his mother, Vanita, two sons, Sean Fawkes of Murray, Kentucky and Brent (Erica) Hemrich of Shiloh, Illinois; sister, Jana (Gil) Lang of Edgewater, Maryland; nephew Tyler Johnson; and six grandchildren, Addison, Asher, Lovely, and Zion Fawkes, and Rolen and Everly Hemrich.
Preceding Jeff in death were his father, Fred Fawkes and his best friend, Shane Gash.
Funeral services for Jeff will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois with burial following at Bone Gap Cemetery in Bone Gap, Illinois. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
