It was a high-scoring affair as Albion Softball traveled to Grayville last week.

The Lady Lions got the better end of the scoring derby Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Junior Bison 22–14. Grayville took a 13–6 advantage within the first three frames, but Albion scored 16 runs throughout the span of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to overcome the early deficit.

Ava Kleinschmidt hit a homerun for the Bison, as part of a 3–5 day that saw her bring in three RBIs and steal two bases. Drayton Mosberger drove in five RBIs and stole two bases for the Bison, going 2–5 from the plate.

Addison Tate added three RBIs and four stolen bags in the losing effort, while Maci McClusky hit for a double, a steal and two RBIs.

Cali Bunting paced the Albion bats with three RBIs, a triple and two stolen bags. Tessa Brennan also managed three RBIs, six stolen bases and a double against the Bison,

Kyndal Richards contributed with two RBIs and a double, while Grace Bishop put up two RBIs, two doubles and a stolen base. Avery Sweeny netted two RBIs, a double and two stolen bases, with Allison Groff accounting for two RBIs as well.

Alice Robb recorded a double and six stolen bases, while Lexi McKinney had a double and a pair of stolen bases to her name as well.

Nikki Hottel pitched a complete game for the Lady Bison, giving up 17 earned runs from 21 hits, seven walks and four strikeouts.

For Albion, Caesyn Nelson got the start, throwing for two-thirds of an inning. She allowed three earned runs from three hits, two walks and one strikeout. Groff pitched for the remaining six and two-third frames, giving up five earned runs from 10 hits, five walks and five strikeouts.
