A slow first half didn’t deter the Junior Bison of Grayville as they claimed a 10-point victory over Clay City last week.

Despite scoring just 11 points and trailing by one by halftime, the Grayville Junior High boys found their offense in the final two quarters of play.  They took the victory over Clay City, 40–30.

Grayville found themselves behind by the conclusion of the first quarter, 9–6. They were able to battle back to a near-tie before heading into the locker room, cutting their deficit to a single point, thanks to a 12–11 score at the half.

The Bison more than doubled their scoring tally in the third period, however, ripping off 19 points to pull ahead 30–23.

The scoring trio of Canyon Neeley, Jake Hosman and Zach Leavens gave the Junior bison three double-digit scorers once again. Neeley led all scorers with 15 points, while Hosman netted 13. Leavens added 11 points to the Grayville victory effort.

Aidon Phillips chimed in with two points of his own in the win.
