It wasn’t until the bottom of the fourth that the game between Albion Grade School and Jasper-Geff was decided.
With the Lions taking a two-run advantage in the top of the fourth, they found themselves leading 9–7 heading into the final half-inning of play. Jasper would spoil the late-game Lion effort, however, nabbing three runs to swipe the victory from Albion, 10–9.
Cali Bunting led the Lion offense in the loss, going 3–3 with three RBIs. Teammate Avery Sweeny had a 2–3 outing, earning an RBI and five stolen bases. Caesyn Nelson managed an RBI and a stolen bag as well. Olivia Rigg drove in a run as well, making a sacrifice bunt.
Allison Groff stole two bases, while Grace Collins stole one.
Nelson started the game in the circle for the Lions, throwing for two and one-third innings. She gave up five earned runs off of five hits, walking three and striking out one. Groff pitched one inning of relief work, allowing one earned run from one hit, one walk and one strikeout.
