The Edwards County Girls Basketball squad had a rough senior night on Monday, dropping a bout to rival Hamilton County in Linda Oxby Gymnasium.
The Lion offense struggled to get going throughout the evening, as they fell to the Lady Foxes, 54–18.
A slow first period saw the Edwards County girls trail 14–4 by the end of the frame. They put up 10 points in the second stanza, but couldn’t halt the Hamilton County scorers, finding themselves in a 31–14 deficit at halftime. At the end of three quarters of play, they were behind by a 45–18 margin.
Isabel Shepherd accounted for most of the scoring for the Lions, netting 10 points in the loss. Senior Mollie Hedrick added six points to the ECHS cause, while Carissa Jefferson had two points to her name.
