It was a tough night for the Lady Lions as they traveled to Massac County last week.
The Edward County Volleyballers made the trek to the power program’s home court on Tuesday, losing to the hometown girls in straight sets; 17–25, 17–25.
Senior Caelyn Nelson led the team with 14 digs, also accounting for an ace and a kill. Classmate Audrey Rotramel was the team leader in kills with eight. Junior Alli Goering had a team-high three blocks on the night, while Hannah Taylor managed two stuffs at the net. Both had a kill each to their name.
Guiding the team in assists was senior Darcy Clodfelter with eight, while Amaya Lashbrook had six assists in the loss. Each player managed a dig apiece as well.
Topping the team in aces was Ellie Marks with three, while the sophomore also registered six digs against Massac County. Senior Rachel Perkins netted three digs and an ace, while Meredith Gillard put up two kills. Lexie Hill managed two digs and a kill.
In junior varsity action, the Lions fell to Massac County; 20–25, 9–25.
