Albion Grade School was able to put Jasper Geff away early on Monday night.

The Lions traveled to Wayne County to take on the joint team, scoring 12 runs in the opening three frames on their way to a 19–4 victory.

Albion struck first, tabulating four runs in the opening stanza, only to see the hometown boys drive in three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. The Lions continued their scoring barrage, however, netting five runs in the second period to Jasper’s one.

The AGS squad would go on to score three runs in the third, two in the fourth and five in the fifth while holding the Wayne County team scoreless the rest of the way.

Jaron Weaver picked up the win for Albion, throwing for the first three innings of play. Weaver struck out four, giving up three earned runs off of three hits and a walk.

Anjuan Rhodes stepped in for two innings of relief, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out one Jasper batter.

Rhodes also led the team offensively, earning three RBIs and a stolen base on a 1–4 day. Drew Seibert drove in two RBIs and stole three bases while going 3–3 at the plate, with Jack Hensley finishing with two RBIs and two stolen bags.

Weaver stole three bases and had an RBI to his name.

Jex Schnepper stole five bases and earned an RBi in the win, while Cash Conner had two stolen bags and an RBI on the day. Wyatt Landingham also netted an RBI.

Jax Duncan stole five bases against Jasper, while Timothy Young stole three.
