Producers for the popular History Channel television show American Pickers have plans to be back in Illinois this May and are searching for leads for the show. “We're looking for leads throughout the state, specifically interesting characters with interesting items and lots of them,” said associate producer Maggie Kissinger. “Please keep in mind that we are looking for different, unusual and unique items too – something we've never seen before and with an interesting story.”
Officials added they are taking the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously and will be adjusting their filming schedule accordingly for the safety of those who appear on the show and their crew. “We won't pick unless everybody is safe, so if we cannot make those dates, nobody's time is wasted as we will re-schedule to a date when conditions allow filming,” Kissinger said. “However, we are excited to continue to reach the many collectors in your area to discuss their years of picking.”
The show only picks private collections – no stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public.
American Pickers is a production of Cineflix of New York City. The show stars Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and Danielle Colby. The stars earn a living by restoring forgotten relics to their former glory, transforming one person's trash into another's treasurer.
If you have a lead for the show, contact Associate Producer Maggie Kissinger at 917-924-2802. The firm's website is cineflix.com. They will be accepting leads through April.
