The Grayville Go-Getters 4-H Club met on April 11 at the Meadowood Nursing Home.

President Grace McCarty called the meeting to order at 2:35 p.m. with three members, one leader and four guests present. Minutes from the February minutes were approved by Raegan Kleinschmidt and Grace McCarty. The treasurer report was discussed with $961.09. During the discussion it was mentioned of a community service project the club could assist with. The club will purchase up to three bottles of cleaner for veteran’s headstones that Pastor David Smith is working on cleaning. Grace made the motion and Raegan seconded the motion; motion carried. A cleaning day will be set for the club members to help David.

Amy McCarty distributed 2021 guidebooks for the members to look through and start planning projects they would like to take to the White County 4-H Shows in July. They need to let Amy or Ashley know of their project choices and if they need any publications before May 1. A dish garden workshop will be held on April 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the University of Illinois Extension Office in Carmi. Openings are still available. Public speaking contest will be April 22 at 5:00pm also at the Extension Office. A steppingstone workshop will be held on May 15 starting at 9 a.m. as well.

Grace adjourned the meeting at 3 p.m. May meeting will be held on May 23 at 2 p.m.

Before the meeting members helped Mike and Tricia Cunningham with planting flowers, strawberry plants, and veggies in the raised beds, as their agriculture lesson, that the club made for them this past year. We hope the residents and employees enjoy growing and caring for them over the spring and summer months.
