An early deficit proved too much to recover from as the Albion Grade School Junior Lady Lions hosted Hamilton County Thursday afternoon.

After a six-run second inning by the Lady Foxes put Albion in a 6–0 hole, the AGS girls chipped away at their disadvantage throughout the final five innings. The Lions fell just shy of completing the comeback, however, dropping the contest, 6–5.

Alice Robb netted a double and two RBIs to lead the AGS bats, while Jaycee Kolb and Grace Bishop each contributed a double and an RBI in the losing effort, with Bishop stealing a base as well. Lily Jones had an RBI and a stolen base on the day, with Avery Sweeny and Olivia Rigg stealing a base apiece as well.

Pitching for all seven innings for the Lady Lions was Allison Groff, who struck out seven Foxes for the afternoon. Groff allowed six runs, only one of which was earned, off of six hits and one walk.
