A strong fourth-quarter outing proved to be not enough as the Lady Lions of Edwards County dropped a road contest at Eldorado last week.

The ECHS offense put up 25 points down the stretch in an effort to erase a 25-point deficit, but the Eagles were able to do enough to keep the Lions at bay. Edwards County lost the bout in a 76–63 decision.

The Lady Lions found themselves in an early hole, as Eldorado scored 46 points in the first half to pull ahead 46–25. Trailing 63–38 by the end of the third period, the Lion offense went on the uptick significantly in the final frame.

That was in large part to junior Jenna Schnepper, who scored 11 of her 25 points in the fourth quarter, including three of her six triples for the night. Senior Caelyn Nelson produced 19 points, including four three-point field goal makes.

Sophomore Kinze Cowling made two threes on her way to 10 points on the night, while freshman Isabel Shepherd had six points to her name. Second-year standout Tara Michels contributed three points in the loss.
