James Thomas Judge, 95, of Grayville

James Thomas Judge, 95, of Grayville died Tuesday, Dec. 31 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind. He was born Aug. 28, 1924, in Mt. Erie, Ill., the son of Jesse and Alice (Shaw) Judge. He married Dorothy Mosbarger on Feb. 25, 1946, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 2011.

James was a member of the First Christian Church in Grayville and was a United States Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. In his younger years, he and his wife, Dorothy, enjoyed square dancing, line dancing and ballroom dancing. Mr. Judge worked for many years as custodian for the Grayville school system. He was also a farmer and oil well pumper.

Survivors include sons, Roy (Vickie) Judge of Burke, Va., Bruce (Nancy) Judge of Pacheco, Calif., Dennis (Deanna) Judge, Larry “Chip” (Michelle) Judge, all of Grayville; grandchildren Dennis Judge, Jr., Jimmy (Lindsey) Judge, Steven (Erin) Judge, Jaime Judge, Jacob Judge; great-grandchildren Connor Judge, Will Judge, Lucy Judge, Jaxon Bell.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers Virgil, Lincoln, Elmer and Norman Judge; and sisters Mary Grubbs, Louella Johnson and Bernice Price.

Visitation and funeral were Friday, Jan. 3 at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Burial with military rites was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
