A strong fourth-quarter showing proved to be enough for the Grayville Junior High Basketball squad to pull away against New Hebron Thursday night.

The Bison hosted the Crawford County unit, handing them a 14-point defeat to defend their home court. Grayville, despite leading by just a single point heading into the final period of play, bested New Hebron by a 54–40.

Grayville took an early lead in the contest, enjoying a 16–14 edge by the end of the opening frame. New Hebron would battle back, however, pulling ahead 28–27 at the half.

The GJHS boys reclaimed the lead in the third quarter, 35–34. They exploded offensively in the final frame, scoring 19 points to New Hebron’s six to pull away for good.

Tyzae Rowland led the Bison with 28 points, flanked by Zach Leavens and Kanaan Worley with 10 apiece. Ayden Funkhouser put up five points in the win, while Kade Stockton scored one.
