With just seven-tenths of a second remaining on the clock, Brayden Hatcher stepped up to the free throw line.

The Grayville High School junior had just been fouled on a lob pass from senior teammate Kenneth Funkhouser with the Bison in a 58–58 deadlock against Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School in his home gym. With two chances to win the game in regulation, Hatcher connected on his second attempt from the charity stripe, essentially securing a 59–58 victory for the GHS boys.

The Bison spent most of the night trailing CORL, finding themselves trailing 11–4 by the end of the opening stanza and trailing by six points heading into the final period. The Grayville squad didn’t let such deficits deter them, however.

“The boys didn’t give up and rallied back in the fourth quarter,” said Torin Lee, Head Coach for the Bison.

Hatcher led the Bison in scoring with 17 points, while Funkhouser was close behind at 15. Fellow senior Cole Neeley managed 12 points in the victory, with classmate Valerio L’Abbate finishing with nine.

Parker Burton netted four points on the night. Lance Collins came away with two points.
