Getting to the free throw line proved to be the difference in the Lions 51–42 loss to Eldorado Friday night.

Edwards County hosted the Eagles in Linda Oxby Gymnasium, outshooting their Black Diamond Conference foe 40.91 percent to 34.78 percent on two-point field goal tries and 30.77 percent to 20 percent on three-point field goals. However, Eldorado was able to find ways to earn trips to the charity stripe often, shooting 29–41 for a 70.73 percent success rate.

While the ECHS boys shot 70.59 percent from line, they went just 12–17, taking 12 fewer attempts than the Eagles had in connections.

Senior Camden Cowger finished the game with a team-high 14 points, as well as four assists, three steals, one rebound and one block. Ty Schmittler contributed 11 points, four rebounds, one steal and one charge taken, while Kaden Cowling netted six points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Andrew Rotramel, Gus Beadles and Jordon Brock all recorded three points on the evening, with Rotramel adding eight rebounds and two blocks and Brock tallying an additional two rebounds and two assists. Fellow senior Brockton Greathouse registered two points, three assists, one rebound and one steal.

Sophomore Alex Calverley added a steal to the Lion effort as well.
