The Edwards County High School Basketball squad came up short in a nail biter inside Linda Oxby Gymnasium last week.

The Lions played host to Black Diamond opponent Carmi, falling behind early but charging back to take a third-quarter advantage. The Bulldogs were able to slip past the ECHS rally, however, handing Edwards County a 43–31 loss.

Camden Cowger paced the Lion offense with 11 points, making him the only Edwards County player to reach double-digit scoring. Cowger also managed six rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block.

Ty Schmittler netted five points, eight rebounds one assist, one steal and one block. The senior trio of Andrew Rotramel, Brockton Greathouse and Jordon Brock each came away with four points, three rebounds and one assist, with Rotramel tallying a steal and a block in the loss as well.

Kaden Cowling registered three points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal on the night, Gus Beadles pulled down a rebound.
