Edwards County earned a tough road victory in McLeansboro earlier this month.

The Lions traveled to Hamilton County to face off against the Black Diamond power on Oct. 17. They defeated the hosting Foxes in straight sets; 25–18, 25–19.

Senior Audrey Rotramel paced the Lion offense with nine kills, with Amaya Lashbrook spending most of the night setting up her teammates with 14 assists and five digs. Caelyn Nelson managed 11 digs, five aces, four assists and one kill.

Alli Goering put up five kills, two digs and an assist, while Darcy Clodfelter netted 11 digs, six assists and three aces. Meredith Gillard had five kills, three aces and two digs to her name, with Rachel Perkins finishing the match with two digs and an ace. Sophomore Ava Greathouse managed five digs.

Lexie Hill and Hannah Taylor each had two kills and a block. Freshman Zeme Markman registered a kill and a dig in the victory as well.
