For the first time in school history, The Grayville Lady Bison Volleyballers can call themselves the winners of the annual Edwards County Volleyball Tournament.

The Bison went a perfect 5–0 on Saturday to claim the tournament crown, defeating Effingham, Casey-Westfield, host school Edwards County, Newton and Mount Carmel to earn its first first-place finish since taking part in the event.

Opening the day against Effingham, Grayville took down the larger school in three sets; 25–14, 20–25, 16–14. Casey also took the Bison to three sets, but fell to the Grayville girls; 22–25, 25–9, 15–3. The GHS unit then locked horns with Edwards County, taking down the Lions; 26–24, 25–17.

Against Newton, the Bison claimed a 25–23, 25–21 win, while they rounded out the day by defeating Mount Carmel by a 25–22, 25–21 margin.

Kami Johnson racked up team-highs in assists, digs and aces for the tournament with 56, 38 and 7 respectively, as well as 13 kills. Sidney Foster made a Bison-best 39 kills to compliment her 25 digs, 23 assists, four blocks and six aces. Macy Knight finished with 25 kills, 13 digs, a team-leading five blocks three aces and one assist, while Kiki Robinson netted 36 digs, four aces and two kills.

Sara Albano had 25 digs, 10 kills, five assists, five aces and one block to her name, with Kylee Hosman accounting for eight kills, seven digs, five assists, five aces and three blocks. Alyvia Rahmoeller netted eight kills, three blocks, three digs and two assists on the day, while Madelyn Cunningham put up a pair of aces.

Shaleigh Duvall recorded two kills, while Kenley Hilgaman netted four aces. Aydreanna Gill finished the day with two assists, while Callie Neeley had a dig.
