Jordon Brock leaps to fight for a rebound amid a sea of Norris City players.

Even though the Edwards County Lions lost their regional game against the NCOE Cardinals, it was a controversial play that led to the defeat.

A questionable traveling call on ECHS senior Camden Cowger and a technical foul call late into overtime tilted the game in favor of Norris City. The Lions played their best game of the year, sending the game into an overtime loss of 43–39.

The Lions outshot the Cardinals at the three-point line 26.67 percent to 16.67 percent. They also had better luck at the free throw line, outshooting the Cardinals 68.18 percent to 50 percent. The Lions also managed to win the rebounding battle by snatching 37 rebounds compared to the Cardinals 20.

Junior Ty Schmittler had his best game of year and led the battle against the Cardinals. He scored a season high 19 points and shot 75 percent from the free throw line. He also had 11 rebounds. His aggressiveness and 80 percent shooting is what kept the Lions so close in the battle with NCOE.

Senior Brockton Greathouse added 6 points, and 4 rebounds to the game. Sophomore Kaden Cowling also had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, and Senior Camden Cowger had 4 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.

Seniors Jordon Brock and Andrew Rotramel each had 2 points, and 4 rebounds.
